On day 3 in NYC, this California native (on my first ever NY trip) had yet to taste that amazing "NY PIZZA" I've heard about my whole life... (even though we had some on this trip already!) Enter Mimi's Pizza. The regular slices were top notch, but THE TRADITIONAL GRANDMA's pizza -- My eyes teared up SOOO GOOD! A totally different kind of airy but crunchy bite and amazing sauce. I literally have never had anything like it and am certain it's enough of a reason to go back to New York (among other things)
Excellent!! Excellent! Excellent! The food is great. The ingredients are fresh and the food is outstanding. The reviews were right! This is a find! The customer service is outstanding! Delivery fast and packaged well.
The pizza was delicious and full of flavor. I could taste the freshness in every bite from the sauce to the herbs. Crust was golden brown and not greasy at all. The place gets a bit loud during dinner rush but service was still efficient and friendly.
Easily one of the best spots for a slice of pizza on the Upper East Side. It's a no-frills, quick-service slice shop with just a few stools, perfect for grabbing a bite on the go or enjoying a quick meal at the counter. The menu is relatively limited, but that's part of the charm; the pizza is the star of the show. Every slice comes out with that ideal crunch, making it one of the more satisfying slice joints in the area. While I enjoy their traditional normal slice, the true standout is their Denso Pepperoni square slice (trust me). Imagine a crispier, more refined version of a Prince Street slice. It's bold to say, but it might even be slightly better. The service can vary depending on who's running the show that day and how busy it gets, so you might catch a slower moment during a rush. Still, the quality of the pizza more than makes up for it.
had this place in my "to try" list for a bit and finally was in the area. Got a square pepperoni slice and wowww that was delicious. The crispy crust and the saucy top with good pepps... really good. I originally was gonna get one slice but after that one.. i went back in and got another. This time the one that has vodka sauce, pesto, tomato sauce on a square slice... again... so good. would def recommend checking this place out.
Very solid neighborhood pizza parlour with equally delish New York round and Sicilian square style pies. The crusts are very solid and the differentiators as the round pies are perfectly crispy yet still foldable and the Sicilian pies have a crispy exterior and fluffy, soft interior. A slice will range from $4-6 so I would recommend grabbing a few varieties to sample for your first visit. Worth a stop if you are by 86th street in Yorkville!
This was the first pizza spot I went to since moving to UES and it was really satisfying! I've been on a couple occasions now and each time the quality has been consistently good. The first time I went I got the margherita slice and the denso pepperoni square slice. The margherita slice was fairly good, a nice crisp crust with flavorful sauce and cheese (although the cheese texture was a bit chewy). The denso pepperoni square slice was very good, with a generous portion of cup peps and a fluffy but crispy on the bottom crust. Fair warning though that it's pretty salty and you'll definitely want to food coma afterwards. The next time I went with a friend and got a full grandma square pie since I think the square pies are better than the standard ones. The grandma pie I actually liked more than the denso pepperoni since the flavor is more balanced and lighter.
Genuinely might be one of the if not the best Sicilian pizza I ever had. When I saw the size and thickness of the slices, I was immediately nervous thinking it was going to be doughy and dense. That couldn't be further from the truth. Somehow Mimi's is able to make the pizza dense but also light and crispy at the same time. The first time I took a bite and heard the crisp - I knew I was eating something special. The only minor complaint I have is that the buffalo wasn't Buffalo enough. It was missing that acidity, that vinegar. But still a great slice. Overall!
Very, very small place, with a narrow counter and maybe 4-5 seats. There was a family of tourists ahead of me, who ordered 12 different slices and kept changing the order. Man behind the counter seemed remarkably patient. Finally got my slices, and they were yummy. I had thought this was going to be a reiteration of the Mimi's of my youth, which was on 84th and Lex IIRC, but it was not. The crust was chewy and crispy, and my extra cheese slice had a LOT of cheese! Yay! Tough noogies, arteries, I don't have pizza as often as I would like.
One of the best hidden gem in UES, was craving pizza as always but wasn't going to go to Time Square for Joe's pizza, don't want to be in the long line in the cold. Don't get me wrong, Joe's pizza is good but Mimi's just hit the spot. For about $5 a pie, my boyfriend and I decided to get 10 slices of pizzas, 4 Denso Roni, 2 slices of Truffle Mushrooms, 1 chicken bacon ranch, 2 Bianca and 1 Grandma. We came during rush hour for dinner and didn't mind waiting for the Denso Roni (Those pepperoni cups are to die for, curling up with pool of oil goodness), the crew worked really fast, getting those pies in the oven and out the door for delivery and picked up. Honestly, the staff work in harmony and making sure everyone who came in got there slices. Now it's a tight spot to eat in, but there are tables outside if you want to eat it there while it's hot. We opted out to take it home to heat it up in the oven and it's still good. For me, it's the crunch factor, even though we heated up in the oven for 350 degrees and for about 6 minutes, it's so good. This is our second visit and won't be our last. Definitely, get the Denso Roni and they do offer delivery with a certain amount of distance. Denso Roni 10/10 Those pepperoni and the cheese, the crunch oh how I wished I got some for my flight right now, yes, as you're reading this review I was working on my reviews for the places I had visited in the city. Rookie mistake but no worries, I just booked a trip back to the city and will be back soon. Truffle Mushroom 10/10 If you love truffle and mushroom AND pizza, the greatest combo, I like this slice well done. Again, that crust is *chef kisses* and one slice wasn't enough so we got two and honestly, I should have gotten the whole pie. Chicken Bacon Ranch 8.3/10 They do NOT skipped out on the chicken, no sir! Loaded with pieces of chicken, once it's reheated in the oven one of the staff loaded up with bacon and drizzle ranch. Not me getting hungry while doing this review and wishing I ordered before this flight. Bianca 7.6/10 This was alright, just something new we wanted to try and giving this a 7.6 because that crunch factor and dipping in ranch with crush pepper flakes really made a difference in our opinion. Overall, I would come back again, I know there were a couple of reviews stating about the waiting time for their slices but for us, we worked in restaurant before and know when it get busy, ITS BUSY so we didn't mind the wait. Again, everyone is different and how fast they want the slices but if they ran out of the pizza that we wanted, we are waiting for the next batch. Shoutout to the team that worked on 11/16/2024 around dinner time (around 6pm)!
